Buddhism has always been a big part of the Thai culture. On this trip we take you to visit some of the most beautiful local temples and give you an insight into the lives local people have lived for generations. Join us to gain an insight into the importance of Buddhism by visiting a selection of local temples. Learn about the history of Khao Lak and Takuapa while feeding the deer in the sustainable local farm before going for a walk around the streets of the old town and the traditional street market. Here you can try some of the traditional local foods and discover the local handicrafts that have been passed down throughout the generations.

  • Pick up from your hotel and take a short drive to the first temple. As with all of the local temples, this temple is still visited regularly by local people.
  • Stop of for a photo opportunity at the “Big Buddha on the hill”.
  • Feed the deer at the local sustainable farm before relaxing with a delicious Thai style lunch.
  • Drive through the old town to the next local temple. The impressive golden spire is decorated inside to reflect heaven on earth.
  • Head deeper into the old town the Chinese style shrine. This shrine takes a central role each year as part of the famous vegetarian festival.
  • Stroll through the traditional local style market and experience a whole range of interesting new sights, sounds, smells and flavors before heading back to your hotel.
